The Chambre de Parade

The monumental fireplace, “à la française”, is in sculpted wood and gilt. The over-mantel bears a copy on wood of Lionella Spada’s painting : Enée and Anchise. This painting represents Enee holding his father Anchise, Creüse - Enee's wife - and their son Ascagne. Anchise is taking from Creüse 's arms its most precious possession : his home's gods which will become Rome's Pénates (*), according to Virgile..

Over one of the doors are the portraits of Louis XIV, the Dauphin and Marie-Thérèse of Austria.

The boudoir

In the adjoining Boudoir, decoration represents "Grotesques" inspired from Antiquity, dating from the XVIIth, with characters, animals, plants and flowers on most part of the walls. The frescoes of the upper section show the gods of Olympus.
The panelling of the lower section shows a representation of "childhood games" made from drawings from Jacques Stella (*) in grisaille and trompe-l’oeil. representing one of the widest playlets of this kind in a single room. 

The bathroom

The Bathroom from the Chambre de Parade is decorated with many patterns in "trompe-l'oeil".
Right over the entrance door, space seems widened by a painting in "faux relief" giving the illusion of a terrace opened on the sky.The green marble wash basins working planes have recent taps, and are surmounted by 2 large mirrors.Giving access to the lavatories, the back side of the bathroom has a bath tub decorated with two brick arches below large paintings.
